Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Monitor Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, performing clerical functions, and ensuring accurate documentation in the Central Monitoring Room.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms.Measure intervals on each strip using calipers.Perform general clerical functions in the Central Monitoring Room.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient data.Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.Essential SkillsKnowledge of office systems and procedures including proper telephone usage and filing.Oral and written communication skills.Skill in performing arithmetical computations.Basic interpersonal skills.Ability to perform a full range of clerical tasks.Ability to operate office equipment, including word processors and computer terminals.Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow.Ability to read and interpret complex instructions.Additional Skills & Qualifications6 months of general clerical work experience.Verifiable Monitor Tech experience.College training may be substituted for the general experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience.Work Environment
This position will work in the Central Monitoring Room in the UConn Health University Tower. The role involves 8-hour evening shifts, rotating every other weekend. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
