Monitor Technician-Emergency Department-FT

The Emergency Department Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the professional nurse. The monitor technician is responsible for cardiac monitor observation and reporting of cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff for further investigation when indicated. The Monitor technician will demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served. In addition to these duties the Emergency Department monitor tech performs other clerical activities as needed by the department. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.
*Education: Vocational/Specialized telemetry training preferred.
*Experience: EMT and/or equivalent acute care, clinical experience preferred.EGRMC will provide a basic dysrhythmia course, successful completion of this course is required. Must be able to pass written ECG interpretation exam with 80% or better within 90 day probation period.
