*POSITION SUMMARY*
The Monitor Tech supervisor who is fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Customer Experiences and Financial Stewardship by effectively and efficiently supervising the operations over the cardiac monitor technicians under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse CMU Manager.
*PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES *
1. Oversees daily operations and assists with scheduling including staff scheduling, KRONOS and conflict resolution that is appropriate at this level of management.
2. Supervises the cardiac monitor technicians in the Centralized Monitoring Unit. Ensures staff are providing quality, accurate work and utilizing effective time management (productivity) in doing so; responsible for the supervision of all staff related to orientation, on-going education and recommendations related to process of workflow and continuous quality improvement.
3. Oversees the maintenance of the daily CMU logs, with all information entered by staff in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Ensures quality of services by implementing established standards of work to meet quality and safety indicators, and by coordinating the available resources and staff to meet these standards.
5. Responds to monitored patient emergencies appropriately according to escalation standards.
6. Ensures each MT saves and places rhythm strips as appropriate per patient monitoring.
7. Accurately identifies and reports arrhythmias to nursing staff.
8. Ensures MT staff initiate monitor set-up and maintains monitoring equipment.
9. Performs quality audits on MT staff to ensure compliance of policies, procedures, and safety.
10. Facilitates communication to nursing units in a timely manner.
11. Ensures CMU equipment and supplies are used appropriately and economically.
12. Ensures CMU provides service to cardiac patients with sensitivity and respect for their needs.**
*LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES *
1. Defines and communicates a clear, compelling vision for the team that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First, and inspirationally leads the team to achieve that vision.
2. Provides supervision, motivation, coaching, feedback, and support daily operations and on projects or goals to ensure meeting the IDN’s objectives for the Centralized Monitoring Unit.
3. Demonstrates openness to hearing diverse ideas and thoughts; creates a sense of inclusivity; and encourages collaboration across department associates.
4. Displays strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and effectively leads and trains department associates and new hires.
5. Collaborates with department Manager on performance management including, but not limited to on-boarding, training and development, associate performance, and performance improvement, and other situations as needed.
6. Coaches and guide Monitor Technicians reports on daily operations and on projects or goals to ensure meeting the IDN’s and client’s business needs and challenges.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS *
* Education: High School Diploma.
* Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years cardiac monitor technician experience required; previous experience with supervision of employees preferred.
* Licensure: None
* Certification: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
* Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Knowledge of Windows computer environment and use of database information and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
o Must possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to prioritize and organize workload to maximize quality, value, and service.
o Proven critical thinking skills and initiative.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Sedentary*
* The majority of the time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
* Requires extended periods viewing computer or time at workstation.
* Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
* May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or moderate noise.
* Communicating with others to exchange information.
* Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
* Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote.
* May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
