Applicant must be able to attend the front desk 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday- Friday. This job is not eligible for any telework and must be present on site 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, with an hour lunch. Montana WILD also provides a positive and supportive environment alongside passionate and knowledgeable coworkers who share enthusiasm for education, wildlife, and the outdoors. *Job Duties:* Under the direct supervision of the MT WILD Program Manager, the Visitor and Events Coordinator (Coordinator) is primarily responsible for greeting visitors at the Montana WILD front desk. This involves creating a welcoming and customer service-oriented atmosphere from the moment people enter the building. This position staffs the front desk, arranges front desk coverage with volunteers and other staff as-needed, oversees the exhibit hall, classroom, and auditorium, and develops on-site educational activities for the classroom and exhibit hall. This position also coordinates or assists in the coordination of all Montana WILD Education Center events, including school visits, outside group visits, public programs, and meeting room bookings. Coordination involves managing the Montana WILD calendar, creating school schedules, managing meeting room bookings, providing AV support as-needed, and registering participants for public events. This position administers the Montana WILD Travel Grant which reimburses outlying schools for a portion of their travel to Montana WILD for field trips. *_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Behaviors):_* Knowledge of: · -FWP’s mission, objectives, goals, and branding effort · -Principles and processes involved in organizational planning, coordination, and execution · -Computer programs, including In Design, Illustrator, Photo Shop and MS Office Suite -Event planning Has the skills and ability to: · Cultivate an open, collaborative, safe and respectful team environment · Foster open communication and positive working relationships with staff, administrators, educators, other agencies, and other professional and administrative personnel both within and outside the department · Provide excellent customer service and public relations · Communicate well both verbally and in writing · Identify problems quickly and accurately · Effectively manage conflict, and find resolution · Professionally and effectively represent FWP with the public and with other conservation and education organizations · Know how to find information and identify essential information · Ability to manage one’s own time and work and solve problems independently * Ability to be efficient and productive in fast paced work environment * Must have enthusiasm and passion for the mission of FWP and Montana WILD * Work independently * Perform a variety of tasks and work with a variety of coworkers and customers * Be adaptable *_Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):_* The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through combination of a high school diploma and 3 years’ experience.
