QualificationsRequirements for Direct Support Professionals in Residential Programs:
High School diploma or GEDPrior experience in a related field preferred, for more acute programs requiredCurrent college students or recent graduates desiredValid non- provisional Driver’s License in good standing
Please note: Specific programs may have additional education and experience requirements
Requirements for One to One Education Program Associates, Paraprofessionals, and ABA Direct Support Associates:
Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment with a minimum of 30 credits toward a degree in Special Education Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Social Work, Human Services or a related field required
Requirements for ABA Specialist:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six months experience in Human Services or related field required.Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.Requirements for Special Education Teachers:
Bachelor’s or Masters degree and eligibility for formal certification such as N.J. Teacher of Disabilities (or of the Handicapped) required. Minimum of one year of teaching experience in special education preferredEligibility for Highly-Qualified Teacher status required.Knowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities.Effective teaching and facilitation skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills requiredAll Compassionate Team Members Must:
Be 18 years of age or olderHave a current, non-provisional driver’s license in good standingPossess a high school diploma or GEDWork well in teams and are open to learning new skillsHave the ability and willingness to work weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
