**John Deere Morrisville: Technician**
As an **Engineering Technician** with John Deere in Morrisville, NC (Electrification Lab), you will:
Perform electrical/mechanical testing, design validation, and verification of electronic or electro-mechanical equipment and products. Work is performed in a lab environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
+ Perform intermediate validation testing on prototypes and existing products.
+ Work with Engineering to understand and apply defined test requirements.
+ Troubleshoot defective lab equipment and provide required maintenance as needed.
+ Build intermediate test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product verification as required.
+ Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
+ Inform supervisor of process, test, or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
+ Assemble (mechanical/electrical) fixtures and test setups as required. This will require performing intermediate design functions.
+ Perform inspection, test, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective tests or assemblies.
+ Conduct functional test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.
+ Create test documentation when required for prototype products if engineering instructions are not available.
+ Review engineering documentation and work instructions, provide feedback, and suggest changes to documentation as required.
+ Communicate in a professional and effective manner with internal departments, vendors, and customers.
+ Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.
+ Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job. _This posting will be used to fill position on 1_ _st_ _shift._ **Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must have at least one of the following:
+ High School Diploma or G.E.D.
+ National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
+ At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
+ Associates degree in technology-related field (Electronic Engineering Technology, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering Technology, etc.) or equivalent experience.
+ At least 2 years of related work experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering
+ Experience with computers and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
+ Experience with diagnostic equipment and methods (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
+ Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause.
+ Ability to perform basic mechanical work; including assembly / disassembly and maintenance of lab equipment.
+ Experience reading and utilizing technical schematics, drawings, and/or datasheets.
+ Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
+ Ability and willingness to work potential overtime.

+ At least 3 year of related work experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering that includes an understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components.
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components.
+ Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude.
+ Hands-on SMT soldering experience.
+ Experience in one or more of the following areas: 3D Printing, Electronics, Electrician/Electrical Contracting, High Voltage Electrical Safety, Electric motor repair, On-road/off-road Automotive Repair, Communication/Networking hardware, Computer repair, Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, HVAC.
