Motion Designer, VFX Specialist

Ibotta is seeking a Motion Designer, VFX Specialist to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This role is integral to our Creative Production team, working closely with key stakeholders across D2C Marketing, B2B, Sales, HR, and Senior Leadership. You will produce dynamic motion design videos and visually impactful projects for a range of initiatives, including broadcast commercials, digital content, out-of-home advertisements, B2B materials, and sales assets. You will oversee projects from concept to completion, utilizing your technical expertise and storytelling skills to create engaging content that captivates our audience and enhances our brand narrative.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What You Will Be Doing

Evolve, develop, and direct Ibotta’s animated 2D and 3D styles while ensuring brand consistency and high-quality output across all projects.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Production and Creative Director, as well as the team, to create stunning motion graphics projects and videos with a focus on VFX.

Manage motion graphics projects from concept to completion, including storyboarding, project organization, asset creation, execution, and sourcing of music, sound effects, and voiceovers.

Oversee the post-production of live-action video projects, promoting best practices for pre-visualization to ensure captivating and technically sound deliverables.

Stay current with industry trends and tools to enhance the quality of our visual output.

Concept, pitch, and lead creative animation ideas, while also executing concepts developed by others to contribute to the creative process.

Execute high-profile projects with meticulous attention to detail, while supporting team members to elevate ideas for a cohesive final product.

Utilize industry-leading creative tools and manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering accurately and on time.

What We Are Looking For

4+ years of experience as a motion designer and/or VFX Specialist in an agency, freelance, or in-house setting.

A comprehensive online portfolio showcasing exceptional motion design and VFX work, demonstrating creativity, diverse projects, stunning visuals, and technical expertise. A demo reel is preferred.

Technical and creative proficiency in one or more of the following: Houdini, Nuke, Cinema 4D, or equivalent VFX software, along with expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop). Familiarity with Figma is a plus.

Strong understanding of advanced animation techniques and principles, with expertise in creative production and post-production workflows, emphasizing teamwork.

Proficient in estimating project timelines and resource needs, consistently meeting deadlines with personal accountability.

Organized workflow that fosters collaboration across projects.

Ability to communicate creative concepts clearly to non-creative stakeholders.

Eagerness to learn about Ibotta and its partners to create resonant projects for the target audience.

Additional Details

This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, a benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks, and occasional meals.

Base compensation range: $80,000-$98,000. Equity is included in the overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Talk to your recruiter to learn more.
