Motor Assessing Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced  Motor Assessing Manager  in the Motor South Region, based in Cape Town to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Automotive Claims Assessment Department. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO ?

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Auto Assessors, ensuring that they are delivering high-quality assessments in a timely and efficient manner, as well as managing the performance and development of staff. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with 
insurance brokers, Auto Body Repairers and relevant stakeholders.

They will be committed to ensuring that the company delivers high-quality assessments, particularly in the automotive sector, to its stakeholders. They will also have experience in staff management, with the ability to motivate and develop staff to achieve set targets. They will have a good understanding of the short-term insurance sector and have  experience in managing relationships with insurance brokers/ clients and the motor repair industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and oversee the daily operations of the claims assessment team, focusing on automotive assessments, ensuring that targets are met in line with operational standards, KPI’s and company policies. Manage and develop the performance of the assessment team, providing regular feedback, coaching, and training to ensure that staff are delivering high-quality assessments and meeting performance targets. Work closely with other stakeholders in the claims environment to ensure consistency in line with other business units in the company. Maintain and develop relationships with clients and insurance brokers, providing regular updates and managing complaints and queries. Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the assessment process. Conduct regular audits of assessments to ensure quality and compliance. Manage budgets and operational expenses and ensure set targets are achieved throughout a financial year. Stay up to date with industry developments and assist with training and development of reporting staff. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business, finance, automotive engineering, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in operations management, in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on automotive assessments. Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of assessors or similar professionals, with a particular focus on  automotive assessments. Experience in staff management, including performance management and staff development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships  with clients, insurance brokers, and colleagues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Experience in budget management and resource allocation. Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and requirements. Familiarity with automotive engineering principles and terminology. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. ABOUT THE COMPANY
