Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: 1 year preferred

Reports to: Foreman, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $30+ per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

A Motor Grader Operator will be responsible for spreading, leveling, and finishing dirt and gravel to grade specifications. Take ownership of your role by operating the motor grader safely and productively, maintaining and servicing equipment, while working with a team that feels like family.

Primary Responsibilities:

Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects. Read grade states and the ability to work with a grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain the grade. Solid understanding of grades, transitions, and curves. Operate motor grader safely and productively. Complete pre- and post-shift equipment inspection and other required paperwork. Fuel, grease, maintain, and help service equipment. Operate and maintain other equipment as needed. Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

 

Position Requirements:

Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test. Mechanical background and skills. Current MSHA certification. Transportation to and from work, and travel to various job locations as needed. Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal forms. Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms. Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work. A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management. Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors. Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
