Motor Truck Driver

The Department of Public Health’s Tewksbury Hospital is looking for an outgoing and reliable individual to fill a Motor Truck Driver position.

Tewksbury Hospital serves approximately 360 inpatients whose care is under the auspices of both the Department of Public Health and the Department of Mental Health. Tewksbury Hospital is a Joint Commission accredited long term and acute care hospital that provides comprehensive treatment, care, and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses. A full range of services are provided including 24/7 nursing, nurse practitioners, medicine, as well as psychiatric and psychological services, a six bed inpatient dialysis unit, clinical laboratory, radiology, respiratory care, nutrition, speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and pharmacy. This clinical environment is strictly governed by regulatory standards that mandate day to day interventions and services.

In addition to the main hospital site, the hospital campus is home to multiple residential 24/7 programs including programs for adults in recovery and two (2) locked young adolescent programs. These programs serve approximately 300 clients daily.

Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities

Operates motor vehicles such as passenger vans, passenger automobiles, panel trucks, etc. to transport persons and/or materials to designated locations.Provides minor preventative maintenance to motor vehicles such as checking tire pressure and battery, oil, gas, and water levels.Contacts appropriate individual for motor vehicle repair and/or maintenance.Maintains records and prepares reports on such matters as vehicle use, mileage, destinations, accidents, repairs, gas and other vehicle expenses.Performs related duties such as loading and unloading furniture, equipment and supplies and distributing supplies and equipment.Based on assignment, may operate snow removal and ice control vehicles in connection with agency snowplowing and road sanding operations.Installs snowplows and sanders on trucks and mix materials such as sand, salt, and gravel to be applied to roadways.Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
