SUNY Geneseo is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Motor Vehicle Operator, SG-07. In this role, you will drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off state property to transport material and equipment as well as plow snow from roadways and parking lots. You will move cargo onto, into, and out of the vehicle to a delivery or storage point.  Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a New York State Driver’s License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Candidates may be required to possess a CDL Class A, B, C or General Class D license.  Preferred Qualifications DEPARTMENTAL OPERATING NEEDS

Knowledge of carrying cargo and any special handling required  Knowledge of simple automotive repair and maintenance procedures Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position  Ability to understand and follow instructions and read, write and communicate Record of dependability and past work performance, including satisfactory time and attendance record Possession of computer skills adequate to work with computerized maintenance management systems and other computerized applications Posting Details Posting Details

Job Duty/Responsibility Function 1: Motor Vehicle Operation

Operate assigned vehicles Lift and carry crates, cartons, boxes, and other cargo onto and off of transport vehicles Complete requests for support of conferences and campus events and associated setups Plow snow from roadways and parking lots Percentage Of Time 80% Job Duty/Responsibility Function 2: Vehicle Maintenance

Change oil, spark plugs, and tires Pump gas, add water to radiator, add oil to crankcase, and add air to tires Replace lamp bulbs Operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds or building trades crews Percentage Of Time 10% Job Duty/Responsibility Function 3: Computerized Maintenance Management Systems

Conduct regular reviews of work orders with supervisor to set priorities Plan daily, weekly, and monthly layout of work Percentage Of Time 10% Supplemental Questions
