Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN CSMS 1, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D1907000. Responsibilities Operates primarily straight-in-line trucks and/or truck tractors with semi-trailers which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 32,000 pounds. Ensures shipping and accounting documents are with the shipment and reflect actual condition, quantities and type of material, including manual turn in and issue documents. Prepares and submits requests for over-dimensional permits to Defense Movement Coordinator (DMC) for military movement involving military vehicles Performs warehouse work, as required, to include issuing, receiving and inventorying equipment, supplies and materials; loading and unloading of trucks; storing and pulling warehouse stock ETC. Performs a variety of servicing and operator preventive maintenance work on assigned vehicles. Accomplishes the full spectrum of support for state and Federal National Guard operations, training, readiness missions, natural disasters, and Homeland Defense/Defense Support ETC. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY GRADES: E4 THROUGH E9 OR WO1 THROUGH CW3 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 12,13,14,19,25,88,91,92,94 The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds. Experience demonstrating ability to operate truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches. Experience operating vehicles over a variety of roads including interstate highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades. Experience driving vehicles without mishap in complicated traffic situations. USE FOR FWS POSITIONS: Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed at least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented. Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
