Summary This job opportunity is for an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, position description D0843000, within the USPFO of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. Its purpose is to operate and perform operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment. Responsibilities As an MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, WG-5703-8, you will: Operate and perform operator maintenance Assures cargo is properly loaded, distributed, and secured Transport personnel, supplies, materials or equipment Perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment Complete log books, maintenance records, reports, and other transportation documents for accuracy Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: CAT III All New Jersey Army National Guard members. Military Grades: E-4 to E8 Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment. Additional Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. Qualifications General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. Specialized Experience: Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience or training which demonstrates the following: Ability to operate one or more motor vehicles Operate platform, van, stake, and dump trucks Refueling vehicles passenger buses or ambulance buses Operate all wheeled vehicles and tractors which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (less than 32,000 pounds) Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx).
