At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an MVO, you will be trusted to work independently and deliver agile solutions. In this role, a typical day will include:

Maintaining good communication with the teamPace of work will vary day to day depending on requirementsOperate on a large team of 70+ drivers to transport personnel, utilizing a variety of cars, vans and/or coach buses safely and successfullyVery fast paced office and receives 80+ requests for chauffeur services per dayDaily requests will come from the dispatch team and the MVO will execute the requests in a timely and professional mannerMVO is expected to safely operate all vehicle types in the fleet, including sedans, SUVs, mini-vans, passenger vans, and charter busesMVO will verbally acknowledge driving assignments, verify passengers, and communicates with dispatch any pertinent updates relating to the execution of driver assignmentsMVO will analyze each driver assignment to verify passenger count, locations, routes, and vehicle needs prior to executing any assignmentMVO is expected to work eight (8) core hours during (0400-1900).  Additional hours may be available on a daily and weekly basis due to complex and ever-changing Customer requirementsMVO may be asked to provide unscheduled/emergency transportation support for senior leaders of the Sponsor OrganizationMVO will be expected to sit for long periods of time while conducting the operation of motor vehicles and will occasionally stand while maintaining the cleanliness of the motor vehicle and while conducting pre and post assignment visual inspectionsTravel in support of Customer requirements to other buildings within and outside of the WMA is expected, including occasional overnight tripsMVO will maintain a Sponsor-issued cellphone and must ensure that the cellphone remains in operating condition during core hours and/or while on assignmentMVO will utilize a tablet to annotate start/stop times, track movements and provide real-time metrics regarding driver assignmentsMVO will wear a uniform, provided by this office, and will adhere to the policiesThe MVO is expected to train and mentor new and/or less experienced drivers, both at the Full Performance and Developmental levels.  Once new drivers are hired, the Senior MVO is expected to: bring new drivers on common routes; assist with administrative duties such as vehicle maintenance guidelines, timesheet procedures, understanding trip tickets and cellphone usage procedures. The Senior MVO is expected to shadow new drivers while conducting routes, provide continuous feedback to new drivers and to coordinate with Dispatch on any OTJ training plan. When necessary, the Senior MVO will assist existing Developmental and Full Performance MVOs with researching their respective re-routes and best paths from origin to destination.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma/GEDMVO will be expected to operate shuttles with air brakes and charter buses of all makes/models in support of Customer’s requirementsMVO must adhere to DOT standards and certificationsDOT certifications must be always kept currentMVO must also possess and maintain a minimum of 5 years of coach bus driving experienceMVO must be proficient in hardcopy map-reading, in addition to the ability to operate GPS and similar devicesMust successfully complete and maintain Motor Coach City Driving Training Certification every 5 yearsMust provide DMV driving records and submit to random drug screening on an annual basisMust also submit to mandatory drug screening after any reported accident
