Work according to production and continuous improvement specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; quality and safety standards.
Main tasks and responsibilitiesRead and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Mount hoist on truck: drilling, bolting, welding, plumbing, wiring Test mechanical products and equipment after assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications What you’ll need to succeed
Knowledge in welding, drilling, use of pneumatic tools, use of fixtures and instructions Use of overhead cranes Truck maintenance mechanic knowledge an advantage Routing and plumbing hydraulics Ability to read installation instructions, follow checklists Proven experience in vocational body-building/ upfitting is an advantage and will be reflected in rate of pay Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations) Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
Experience and Education:
Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school: ASE, welding, truck or vehicle maintenance Proven experience in upfitting or vocational body building
