MP&L Supervisor
Description We are opening a new role for an MP& L Supervisor based in Carey, Ohio. The primary function of this role revolves around supervising and coordinating the shipping and receiving activities within our industry. This role also involves managing the inter-departmental transport of materials, ensuring quality standards and safety protocols are adhered to, and overseeing most day-to-day operations of the group. Responsibilities: • Oversee and assist in day-to-day shipping and receiving operations, including preparing and packaging orders for shipment, loading and unloading of materials, and ensuring proper storage of materials • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments • Ensure order shipments are prepared and processed to meet customer demands • Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping receiving schedules • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipment • Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules • Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or contact outside service facility for repair • Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage work areas • Conduct daily audits and document and resolve discrepancies • Monitor and enforce all attendance policies for all team members • Communicate respectfully and build a motivated, energized team environment. Skills: • Communication • SAP Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role • Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments • Proficiency in SAP is necessary for efficient management of logistics and production planning • Candidates must have a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making • Ability to supervise, coach, and mentor a team is essential • Candidates should be capable of managing and improving operational processes • Knowledge in inventory management, demand planning, and material flow is required • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is advantageous • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively • Candidates should have strong organizational and planning skills • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
