Provide leadership for the delivery of the MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) to international customers. Desired candidate will interface directly with foreign customers on all aspects of the development, testing and delivery of RPAS products, with a focus on certification activities and technical SOW compliance. Candidate will also work closely with the Canada Department of National Defense (DND) program office. Position reports to an executive and will require leading frequent program briefs to senior leadership so candidate must possess strong technical communication skills. This role will typically accomplish objectives through subordinate managers and a matrixed team. Responsible for decisions that could have an extended impact on outcomes where erroneous decisions could result in critical delays and modifications to programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct all phases of the Canadian MQ-9B RPAS certification and qualification effort, including planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.Act as the primary interface to the Canadian customer in regard to certification and qualification compliance.Develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the engineering unit(s) and may also participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.Interact with senior management concerning matters of significance to the company. Act as primary contact for engineering activities related to certification and qualification.Orchestrate and lead Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) between customer and General Atomics to resolve program scope issues within working team.Formulate strategies and plans to resolve issues elevated to the leadership level to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.Lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.Oversee the development of and ensure the security of the unit's proprietary technology and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Other duties as assigned or required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
