Mr D - Senior Brand Manager (Subscriptions and Partnership)

This position reports to the Head of Brand & Communication for Mr D.

Purpose of the role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving our group subscription programme,TakealotMORE, developing and executing partnerships and partner campaigns to drive new buyer acquisition, frequency of shop for returning buyers, increase penetration into partner bases, increase brand visibility, and generate marketing income and supplier funding for co-op marketing campaigns in South Africa to complement and play a key role in their team of Marketing professionals. 

Your responsibilities will include:

Drive subscription program growth and adoption.

Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase subscription adoption, desirability and usage. Create and manage subscription campaigns across various channels (email, social media, web, etc.). Monitor and analyze subscription metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Develop Partnership Strategy: 

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with the marketing and business objectives.

Identify and Evaluate Partnership Opportunities: 

Research and identify potential partnership opportunities. Evaluate partnerships based on strategic fit, audience alignment, and potential impact

Negotiate Partnership Agreements: 

Work with Snr marketing Manager to lead negotiations with potential partners to establish mutually beneficial partnership agreements, campaign agreements and T&Cs.  Define partnership terms, including goals, objectives, deliverables, and commercials.

Manage Partnership Relationships: 

Cultivate strong relationships with strategic partners.  Serve as the main point of contact for partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the partnership and campaign lifecycle.

Collaborate on Marketing Campaigns: 

Work closely with marketing teams to integrate partnership initiatives into marketing campaigns and partner campaigns.  Develop briefs for creative and compelling marketing campaigns that leverage partner and internal assets and resources to drive partner campaign objectives.

Execute Partnership Campaigns: 

Manage the briefs and execution of partnership campaigns from concept to completion.  Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery of campaign deliverables.

Track, analyse and report on performance:  

Define KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of partnership campaigns.  Track performance metrics, analyse internal data, spend, return on campaign metrics, and generate insights to optimise partnership strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Manage Partnership Budget: 

Develop and manage the partnership marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to budget, co-funding marketing budget and marketing income

Operational and Management reporting weekly and monthly

Monthly post campaign reporting using analytics Reporting on campaigns to partners and business required

Skills and Competencies:

Marketing Strategy: Ability to execute on comprehensive marketing plans. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data to drive decision-making. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Negotiation: Ability to negotiate and manage partnerships effectively. Project Management: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Digital Marketing: Knowledge of digital marketing channels and tools. Customer Focus: Understanding of customer needs and ability to engage effectively.

Qualifications and experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.  5-7 years of experience in partnership marketing, business development, or related roles, preferably in the E-commerce or retail industry. Proven track record of successfully developing and executing partnership campaigns that drive customer acquisition, increase brand visibility, and generate revenue. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain partnerships at all levels. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and negotiate agreements. Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
