Position Overview:\n
Performs MRI examinations under the direction of the Radiologist. Exams are performed with the highest technical quality and efficiency while providing compassionate care and ensuring patient safety. Generates paperwork including verifying physician orders, requisitions, and appropriate exam charges.\n\n\n\n

Essential Functions:\n
\u00b7 Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of MRI scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for MRI scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary. \n
\u00b7 Follow all MRI safety procedures and complete safety forms.\n
\u00b7 Perform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards. \n
\u00b7 Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable. \n
\u00b7 Assist radiologist with interventional MRI procedures. \n
\u00b7 Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film\/transmit to Image Archival System. \n
\u00b7 Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions. \n
\u00b7 Charge procedures and supplies in EHR. \n
\u00b7 Dispense oral or rectal contrast to patients for MRI scans. \n
\u00b7 Maintain accurate patient records. \n
\u00b7 Provide orientation and training to new MRI technologists. \n
\u00b7 Provide care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families for MRI scans. \n
\u00b7 Provide education and training to student technologists. \n
\u00b7 Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein. \n
\u00b7 Coordinate scheduling and patient flow \n
\u00b7 Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration. \n
\u00b7 Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocols. \n
\u00b7 Assist with the education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows, and attending's). If applicable. \n
\u00b7 Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and MRI imaging techniques that are unique to facility.\n
\u00b7 Monitor all unread studies without notes.\n\n\n\n

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:\n
Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.\n\n\n\n

Qualifications & Skills: \n
a) Education: ARRT registered in compliance with continuing education requirements. BLS certified.\n
b) Training & Experience: Prefer one year experience but not mandatory.\n
c) Job Knowledge: Knowledgeable in cross sectional anatomy to perform in MRI. Familiar with laser imaging. Excellent communication and facilitation skills.\n\n\n\n\n
