MRI Tech Relief
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Schedule| Hours:** + Per diem/ Relief Hours: 1st, 2nd shift variable start (545, 645, 9a, 3p, 4p) **Position Summary:** The MRI Tech performs MRI procedures utilizing MRI equipment and associated computer accessories. This role manipulates computerized patient data and records images on hardcopy film, and prepares and/or administers contrast medias. **What the MRI Tech will do** : + Positions patients on the MRI table. + Identifies each film of an examination with the correct patient exam number, data and logistic designation. Record computerized image on film and process. Maintain patient logs and examination indexes. + Determine correct scanning protocol and exposure factor and program the control. Monitor image and modify imaging protocol to achieve optimum examination results. + Perform equipment calibration, calibration checks and maintain records. + Maintain inventory and perform minor equipment repairs or adjustments, including cleaning. Initiates requests for service to repair equipment if needed. + Greet patients and explain procedures. Answer questions and instruct patient during procedures. + Perform MRI scan and teach other staff procedures according to established protocol. + Prepare contrast media and administer to patients as required for the examination utilizing aseptic or sterile techniques. + Instructs other staff MRI technologists and the MRI interns in MRI and supervises their performance while assisting in these procedures. + Assist in developing operational policies and procedures relative to the MRI functions. + Keep supervisors and staff informed about relevant issues. **What the MRI Tech will need:** + Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology or accredited program. + ARRT,NMTCB, or equivalent certification + Preferred: At least 2 years prior employment in MRI or equivalent imaging related field **Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion** Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
