Position Summary:
The MRI Technologist performs a wide variety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations, producing high quality diagnostic images. This role assists in maintaining an orderly and clean work environment and, on occasion, performs routine clerical tasks.
What the MRI Technologist will do:
Performs a wide variety of examinations which results in the production of high quality diagnostic MRI scans.Properly positions patients. Uses MRI equipment in a safe and proper manner. Administers specific MRI contrast and materials as directed by the Radiologist or other physician.Assists Radiologist in performing routine and/or special procedures. Assesses patient’s condition to determine appropriate procedure and technique.Provides instruction to MRI students. Explains exam and procedures and acquires patient history.Monitors safety and comfort of patient through the exam.What the MRI Technologist will need:
Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology Program, or an MRI specific curriculum.American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification, or board eligible within 6 months of hire. Must be ARRT(MR) certified within 2 years of hire. Certification or re-certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire. Must maintain 24 continuing education credits per biennium to retain registry.Two years of experience as a Registered Radiologic TechnologistPreferred: ARRT certification in MRIPreferred: One year of experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist.Highlights:
