MRI Technologist Location: Wenatchee, WA Duration: 13 weeks Shift Information: Sat-Mon 0600-1830 shift. Description: MRI Technologist with CT experience. Must have Siemens Sola 1.5 experience. Prefer Epic and IBM Merge PACS experience. Must have WA certification. Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Sub Specialty(s): MRI Technologist EMR Used: EPIC Minimum Years of Experience : 2 Certifications/Requirements: General Certifications BLS/BCLS Allied Health Certifications: ARRT(MRI)ARRT Position Summary: Performs all routine and special MRI procedures by participating in technical duties directly involved with the MRI scanner. Provide patients with safe, courteous and efficient care. Will assist in CT; assist in other sections of the department as needed Position Reports To: Reports to Radiology Manager. Essential Functions: Prepares for and performs all MRI examinations while operating assigned equipment in a safe manner as instructed. Evaluates MRI images for technical quality. Develop, initiate, and monitor procedures for the effective utilization of the MRI scanner. Completes “Informed Consent” forms as needed. Performs IV access, using sterile technique and administer contrast media under physician supervision. Maintains the cleanliness of the scanner and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures. Required to take standby and be on call as needed. If on call, will be available within 20 minutes of notification of need. If working less than 40 hours per week, may be required to work scheduled days off. Follows good MRI safety and quality assurance procedures. Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required paperwork for each examination performed. Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities. Lifts patients as needed and when this can be accomplished safely and according to policy. Transfers patients using safe ergonomic technique and utilizes the hydraulic lift or other safe patient handling devices and the patient's family members or caregivers when necessary. Participate in Quality Improvement Programs. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: Must be a graduate of a course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Minimum one year as a radiologic technologist to include fluoroscopy. Washington State Certification as radiologic technologist. ARRT registered in MRI or within one year of employment in MRI classification. Desired: Previous MRI experience preferred. ARRT registered in CT or registered within one year of employment. A working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, and email communication.
