MRI Technologist

Position Overview: This is a full-time position. Prefer someone willing to work a 10a to 6p shift or later.

Pre-employment Requirements:

We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements: 

Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program License/Certification/Registration: BLS Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Certification through ARRT MRI National Registration. If not MRI registered, must be registered in another ARRT modality and an MRI registry must be obtained within 6 months of placement in the position.

Job Requirements:

General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies. Excellent communication skills. Neat and professional appearance. Ability to perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high-field strength magnets and related equipment and produce radiographic images of specific body parts. Ability to analyze patient histories and complete screenings for pacemakers or other objects that may cause injuries during the exam. Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS). Position requires a full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Ability to acquire IV access to patients needing contrasted studies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Provide appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Maintain an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers. Assists in on-the-job training of new employees. Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice. Responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure. MRI technologists must be able to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of the staff and patients as well as evaluate the scans for technical quality.
