Shift: 12:00p to 8:30 pm and 3:00p- 11:30 pm weekend rotation

Primary skills utilized/learned:
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
o Neuro, MSK, abdominothoracic, and cardiac anatomy
• IV Starts
• Produces quality MRI images in a variety of settings
• Opportunity to learn advanced MRI imaging techniques such as Cardiac and Breast MRI
• Patient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatient
• Maintain the integrity of safety measures required within a MRI environment including implant investigation
• Educating patients regarding MRI safety and screening process ,procedures, equipment, and examination to maintain basic understanding and comfort.
• On the spot critical thinking
• Effective communication skills
• Functions well under stress and with minimal supervision
• Works well both independently and as part of the MRI Team
Personnel MRI Tech will work with:
• The MRI staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.

Glick Center:
o Brand new Siemens Vida 3.0 T and Sola 1.5 T magnets
Middleburg Heights:
o Open Hitachi MRI
Parma:
o GE 1.5 T
W150th:
o Siemens 1.5 T
Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:
• All MRI scanners are ACR Accredited
MRI Technologist Role:
• All MRI Technologists credentialed through ARRT or ARMRIT
• Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans.
• Provides a safe and supporting care environment for patients undergoing procedures involving the use of MRI, while assisting the radiologists and nursing staff during those procedures.
• Functions in a multi-purpose role depending on the needs of the patients and the department, and in line with The MetroHealth System approved policies and procedures in accordance with specific governing ODH regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/MRI program
• ARRT MRI or American Registry or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) credential or obtains within one year of employment. Cross training support is provided
• BLS Certification from the AHA or obtains during the standard probationary period.
Preferred:
• Previous MRI experience
• Advanced certification through the ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI
• Registered Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARMRIT
• Good background and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
Physical Requirements:
• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Apply
