Job Description
Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies. Maintains required documentation.
Job Responsibility
Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure. Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room. Prepares patient for exam by placing and positioning patient on exam table within the gantry. Enters patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist to include anatomical area of interest. Performs MRI procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies etc. Recognizes and promptly reports patient’s motor abnormalities; including, fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions etc., to the Radiologist. Performs minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjusts equipment, when necessary. Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification
Vocational or Technical school Diploma required. Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State required, and Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed: MRI and Cat Scan Certifications (preferred). 1-3 years of technical experience, required. Cat Scan technologists who can also cover general x-ray, preferred. Individuals interested in cross training to MRI, preferred.
Hours: Weekdays 10a-6p and every other weekend 8a-4pm.
