The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The MRI Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member.
This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time; and require the ability to sit in front of a CRT monitor much of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Cardiac/cardiovascular, mammary, GI, endocrine, renal, skeletal conditions and disease including but not limited to: CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, oncology, etc.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Radiology Manager. This position takes direction from the MRI Supervisor.
