**Overview**
Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with the operation of MRI at a Level II Trauma Center to assist the radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. The patients in this environment are usually more challenging and more acutely ill than in smaller facilities or strictly outpatient settings. The technologist is primarily responsible for daily operations of the MRI section, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA), with a secondary emphasis on performing studies in other modalities as trained or required. The technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

**Responsibilities**
+ Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family.
+ Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.
+ Ability to perform all tasks associated with Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologist II job description.
+ Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance.
+ Administer contrast media or as directed and per protocol.
+ Evaluates the imaging study for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
+ Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.
+ Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and Radiologist to insure an effective and harmonious working environment.
+ May rotate shifts or be in an “on call” status as needed or directed by the organization.
+ Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education and Experience**
+ Education: Associates Degree, Allied Health or Radiologic Technology
+ Experience: Minimum of 3 year experience
**Required Licensure and Certifications:**
+ ARRT (R)(MR)
+ TX MRT
**Pay Range**
$31.92 - $46.29 /hour
