MRI Technologist - Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic

Position Summary:

Radiology team members partner with providers to ensure that each patient has a safe, caring experience. Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging in accordance with established protocols. Interacts with patients, clinicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Applies knowledge ofMRI safety, emergency protocols and procedures. Performs tasks to comply with regulatory standards. Educates and trains others on the operation of all MRI equipment, procedures, image quality, and exposure techniques.

Work Schedule:

1.00 FTE, Variable M-F Day/Evening

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: NA  Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry is required and must be maintained.  Advanced Registry in Magnetic Resonance required within 12 months after first shift working solo within modality.  Must maintain ARRT (R)(MR) In lieu of ARRT (R) requirement, an ultrasound or nuclear medicine certification may be considered based on business need. Must obtain certification of BLS within 6 months and continuously maintain. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Problem solving skills and discretion with patient information is required. Computer knowledge or experience in specialized imaging systems such as three-dimensional reconstruction is required. The ability to exercise good judgment is important.  Must exhibit strong interpersonal and team building skills. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Must possess the ability to operate the following pieces of equipment safely and efficiently: Patient Transfer Devices, Security System, Fire Alarms, Three Dimensional Workstations, Emergency Equipment, Power Injector, PC, printer, voice documentation devices, fax, and photocopier.  Proficient in EMR processes, and PACS. Must be willing to train and maintain competency in the operation of new equipment and technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Additional specialized training or experience in MRI is preferred. For MRI specialty positions (Cardiac, Breast, Prostate, 3T) experience in the specialty areas is preferred. If all other qualifications are met, an applicant with specialty experience may be selected over technologists without that experience.
