Summary:
Performs MRI procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards.
Operates MRI equipment in a safe and responsible manner, following appropriate safety guidelines.
Position Responsibilities:
• Consistently performs high quality MRI studies according to protocols established by the Radiologists. Films all MRI exams utilizing proper window and level. Follows protocol for room set-up, obtains patient assessment form and injection procedures. Demonstrates competence to perform venipuncture and follows established protocols for administering contrast medium.
• Verify order and patient identification before performing MRI exam. Screen all patients for medical appropriateness of MRI procedure as well as for potential projectiles before entrance into the exam room. Patient assessment form must be completed and validated before patient enters MRI room.
• Provide superior customer service to patients and personnel. Must be able to effectively communicate with all customers; display high degree of tact and diplomacy and maintain supportive relationships.
• Follows appropriate safety guidelines during operation of MRI equipment. Adheres to Virtua policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
Previous MRI experience preferred.
Required Education:
Certification of completion from an Accredited Radiography Program, or other Imaging certification organization.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Advanced MRI certification preferred.
ARRT certification.
