MRO Buyer

Scope of Responsibility: The MRO Buyer will take responsibility for cost analysis, developing vendor relationships, and placing requisitions for all MRO and parts needed for work-orders and projects.  Functions include but are not limited to obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts and developing/maintaining suppliers’ quality and delivery performance. This position will take ownership for cost, inventory levels, on-time delivery, and quality to support manufacturing operations production schedules.

Essential Duties:

Place requisitions for all MRO and parts needed in the stockroom, those needed for work-orders and those needed for projects.Convert all requisitions into PO’s.Get quotes for all parts needed and ensure Sabre Industries is getting the best price for the material needed.Ensure use of proper purchasing procedures and enforce them in the department.Manage month-end close, to include running and analyzing the Open PO Report, developing the accrual list and summary, and running other reports as needed.Work with Corporate on national contracts, to include understanding what they are, how they impact they department’s purchasing and implementing them into our purchasing process.Work directly with suppliers negotiating costs, terms and other elements of the proposed purchase when requested.Performing price/cost analysis and other types of evaluation related to procurement activities.Coordinate, control and follow-up all goods returned for credit, repair, or replacement.Regular and on-time attendance.Work in your shift as scheduled.Must work well with others.Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.Computer skills required including experience with MS Office products.Works independently with minimal supervision once assignments or responsibilities outlined and delegated.  Displays a strong sense of ownership for work.Copes with ambiguity, change and uncertainty effectively.
