MRO Buyer
Job Title: MRO Buyer Job Description Responsible for all indirect purchasing including equipment, contingent labor, warehouse leasing, and storage space leasing for packaging and kitting group. Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Responsibilities + Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations. + Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities. + Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization. + Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers. + Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction activities. + Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements. + Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers, and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods. + Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications. + Conduct research for new components and suppliers. + Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation. + Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues. + Resolve supplier shortages and past-due situations. + Update and maintain commodity strategies. + Work with cost estimating to develop cost estimates as needed for savings negotiations and to mitigate supplier uplift requests. + Produce weekly reports, charts, and status on open assignments and projects. + Perform Market Tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of parts. + Review open vehicles off road (VOR) and backorders on a weekly basis and expedite parts delivery. Essential Skills + 4+ years of recent MRO purchasing experience + 4+ years of facilities, warehouse, service, program management background + OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier background in purchasing + SAP Experience + Intermediate Excel knowledge + Strong communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree (highly preferred, open to no degree if all experience requirements are met) + Warehouse leasing experience + Storage space leasing experience + Strong negotiation skills + Experience with Ariba Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $47.00/hr.
