POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Planner plays a crucial role in enhancing plant efficiency by purchasing indirect items to support daily operations of the plant as it relates to tooling, supplies, equipment, and materials. You will work closely with various departments to forecast needs, procure supplies, and maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize downtime. Additionally, you will negotiate contracts, track maintenance costs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in identifying areas for improvement and driving cost savings across the site.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and analyze monthly cost summaries by machine, work order, and MRO supplies to drive cost improvements across the site.
Track and quote current service providers monthly, ensuring timely and quality completion of required work as per agreements.
Execute annual contracts with service vendors, negotiating terms and pricing for services rendered.
Establish reorder point triggers in the database to initiate purchase orders for goods and services.
Issue purchase orders based on reorder points for general MRO goods and replenish direct purchases as needed.
Follow up on past due purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries and prevent facility downtime.
Process urgent requests from the plant to prevent extended downtime.
Source maintenance goods and manage third-party repairs of motors, drives, and miscellaneous items.
Substitute obsolete parts within the facility for MRO goods.
Maintain tool crib stocking strategies annually and manage all tool crib activities.
Ensure contractor safety requirements are met in compliance with company standards.
Collaborate with maintenance to schedule preventive maintenance (PM) with contractors monthly.
Schedule contractors for necessary work related to general production or capital expenditure (Capex) projects as directed by maintenance.
Track costs associated with capital projects in the CMMS database.
Close out Capex projects and apply asset tags to the accounting database.
Manage critical spare inventory through the CMMS.
Organize monthly meetings to review all costs associated with operations.
Identify areas for improvement in both pricing and consumption.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or a minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or a related role in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to analyze data, develop cost effective maintenance plans, and identify areas for improvement.
High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in planning and execution.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain detailed records.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Material Control and Work Order Management
Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
Experience using CMMS for planning and tracking maintenance activities.
Demonstrated experience in Inventory Control Procedures
Experience in negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
