Under supervision, the MRO Purchaser is responsible for the purchasing of machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the manufacturing operation, as well as the receipt, storage, pre-kitting, and issuance of inventory in support of current and planned maintenance work. Works closely with Maintenance Planner as assigned to ensure maintenance work is adequately supported with proper materials and/or services. All Company policies, procedures and guidelines as well as actions that support teamwork, safety, efficiency, good housekeeping and GMP adherence are to be followed.
What you will do...
Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and request approvals for goods and servicesPurchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amountsResearch and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and historyNegotiate with suppliers, vendors, and other representativesAnalyze price proposals and other data to determine reasonable pricesMaintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventoriesReview product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchasedEvaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changesRespond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellationsReview orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specificationsRecommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stockMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area as required by department supervision, safety protocols and GMP’s.Use the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS/SAP), and the computer for internal/external communications and other business uses as necessary.Work with local and corporate accounting to resolve invoice delays and discrepanciesUnderstand and work effectively in the company CMMS and SAP to effectively manage ordering, invoicing and stockingMust be flexible to work any shift, weekends or on-call hours as needed and as scheduled. Assist, directly or indirectly, by working with outside contractors, vendors or Campbell’s personnel on installations, construction, repair, product development and other special projects.When requested, follow-up on work assignment status to confirm work is completed on schedule.Provide backup and/or assistance for other positions such as Maintenance Mechanic as needed. Maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers, and co-workers. Follow safety rules and protocols while working in and with machinery such as Lock Out/Tag Out.Deliver key measurables in a timely, professional, and ethical method to ensure and protect the Company’s professional image. Protect team members and company safety and security through reporting and stopping occurrences such as damage to product and/or property, theft, product tampering and questionable behavior. The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$48,100-$69,100Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
