MSIM Public Platform Solutions Specialist - Vice President

dESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Platform Solutions Specialist will support the Trading Analytics team within the Office of the COO, with a primary focus on front office integration of our trading and investment platform. This individual may serve as a subject matter expert for fixed income trade analytics and will also have a role in vendor relationship management to support our Transaction Cost Analysis program (TCA). The position includes project-oriented work that will change based on evolving business needs.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Project manage integration of legacy and new businesses into the trading and portfolio management platform, with emphasis on fixed income

· Liaise with vendors to manage custom development roadmaps and continuous product/platform education

· Manage internal user training processes and remediation of issues

· Assess existing and prospective technology systems to advise on gaps, new system development and/or vendor selection based on industry best practices

· Partner with internal IT teams to manage development roadmaps

· Interface with professionals across business functions, including the Operations, Trading and investment teams; participate in/ conduct meetings with traders, IT developers, and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

· Minimum six years of work experience in trading, market structure, trading product specialist, consulting, or a related field

· Four-year college degree with courses in quantitative subject matters and/or finance

· Series 7, CFA or other certifications that demonstrate industry knowledge are beneficial but not required

Knowledge/Skills

· Experience using or onboarding portfolio analytics software and/or trading systems, with specific experience with BlackRock Aladdin preferred but not required

· Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income and derivatives products

· Middle Office Trade Processing familiarity is a plus

· Interest in Project/Program Management

· Possess an intellectual curiosity and ability to problem solve using available resources

· Detail-oriented and organized with an inherent interest in improving/optimizing processes

· Ability to work independently and steer projects to completion

· Effective written and verbal communication skills

· Mastery knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint (charts and graphs with meticulous attention to formatting) and Excel (advanced formulas and superior data organization techniques)

· Training in Agile project management technique is a plus, but not required

Wage Transparency Statement

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
