MSW Supervisor - Functional Family Therapy

FFT-CW Supervisor will serve families under COS or at risk of being placed under COS, as identified during the Child Safety Conference, and the child remains with the respondent parent. Supervisor will supervise a unit of Therapists who will provide services to families in the FFT-CW program. Under the general direction of the Program Director, the Therapist Supervisor shall serve as a line supervisor. Because of the program’s service mandate, the Therapist Supervisor shall be expected, from time to time to work evenings. The principal tasks of the position include: Responsibilities + Supervisor must meet with assigned families immediately following Child Safety Conferences (CSCs) where COS services have been recommended. + Must engage and assess families, complete service intake, and begin collaboration with FSU and FCLS. + Participate in all family court hearings, provide written court reports, and collaborate with the Family Service Unit (FSU) of the Division of Child Protection (DCP) and Family Court Legal Services (FCLS) in preparation for hearings. + Provide the model specific intervention to no more than 8 families. + Services/support families throughout the court ordered supervision period which is typically 12 months + Provide supervision to up to four FFT Therapists. + Carry a caseload providing home-based Functional Family Therapy to of 3-4 families. + Guide the FFT therapy team, and provide clinical supervision after having completed FFT requirements for being able to do so. Until that time, clinical supervision will be provided by an FFT consultant. When applicable, s upervisors will provide individual staff supervision once a week and weekly group supervision for their team. + Coach, support, and guide Therapists through the implementation and delivery of the FFT-CW model. + Ensure therapists provide targeted interventions to support to families throughout the life of the case (typically 3-5 months) + Ensure that all components and stages of the FFT-CW model will be followed. Supervisors will continuously assess for risk and safety factors. They will ensure that we provide quality services to families. + E nsure therapists deliver one hour of intervention weekly with each family; constituting four contacts per family per month. + E nsure that therapist’s progress notes are entered within 5 days of the contact and follow the FFT-CW template. Progress notes will be reviewed in preparation for case review. It is the Supervisor’s responsibility to review the time-lines to make sure all fidelity measures are being met, as well as every child being seen. + E nter supervisory progress notes into CONNX within three weeks of the occurrence of the event. They will follow the supervisor note template. + R eview all FASP’s prior to submission to ACS. They will ensure that they are completed accurately and submitted on time. Supervisors will ensure FASP submission for their unit adheres to internal time-lines. + E nsure that all FFT-CW model time-lines are met. Including initial call to family, weekly sessions, etc. + E nsure that all fidelity measures for FFT-CW model are met for their team, as well as those of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). + Ccommunicate with ACS personnel, case managers, PPRS liaison officers, school personnel, court officials and other mental health professionals, as needed. + A ttendance is a critical factor as it sets an example for workers, as well as provides stability for the units. However, their schedule must include flexibility as this is not always a 9-5 position. + Supervisor will perform other duties as requested by your direct supervisor. Qualifications + Master’s degree in social work or related degree eligible for NYS licensure; with three or more years of experience in child and family services. + Willingness to carry a caseload and work with families in their own homes. + Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet. + Very good interpersonal/communication skills, as well as strong clinical skills. + Ability to internalize and work within the Functional Family Therapy philosophy and model. + Ability to work with respect for cultural diversity. + Commitment to empowering families to solve their own problems. + Ability to establish a mutually respectful relationship, in which the family is a full partner, empowered to solve their own problems. + Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect family members. + Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice. 9-5 with flexibility.
