This position is open to only current Maintenance Supervisor I and Maintenance Supervisor IIs (Car Equipment)
Responsibility:
The responsibilities of the MS2 staff will be instrumental in addressing the vulnerabilities identified in the study and improving operational effectiveness. The incumbent will establish and perform regular QA spot checks, enforcing operational protocols and ensuring all terminals consistently meet high standards of cleanliness and safety. They will also be responsible for material forecasting and coordination, reducing reliance on external maintenance shops and preventing delays in supply availability. Data collection will also be an integral part of the daily responsibilities to allow for the establishment of measurable KPIs. By dedicating resources to these critical areas, the Maintenance Supervisor II will streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Maintenance Supervisor II (Car Equipment) Salary Range:
1st Step – Entrance $112,717
2nd Step – 7th Month $114,313
3rd Step – 2nd Year $118,338
Education and Experience:
Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance department of a major railroad, maintaining and repairing multiple-unit rail cars, service cars, and locomotives; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills:
Must possess thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures as outlined in the NYCT Rules and Regulations and the Division of Car Equipment Safety Rule Books.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.
