**Overview** We are seeking a talented **Cloud Engineer** to help modernize our legacy SOAP-based **Airline Gateway** (AGW). You will play a key role in building a **cloud-native** , scalable, and traceable architecture using **AWS** , **Python** , and DevOps practices to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability. This role will focus on migrating from legacy SOAP APIs to modern **REST APIs** , implementing **CI/CD pipelines** , containerization, and automation processes that improve the agility and effectiveness of the platform. **Responsibilities** + **Design** , **build** , and **deploy cloud-native solutions** on **AWS** , migrating from SOAP-based APIs to **RESTful** APIs. + Develop and maintain **backend services** and **web applications** using **Python** for integration with cloud services and systems. + Implement **CI/CD pipelines** , automation, and containerization using tools like **Docker** , **Kubernetes** , and **Terraform** . + Utilize **Python** for backend development, including writing API services, handling business logic, and managing integrations with databases and AWS services. + Ensure the scalability, **security** , and **high availability** of the cloud systems, adhering to AWS best practices. + Implement monitoring and **logging** solutions for real-time observability, ensuring system traceability and performance tracking. + Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud-based solutions and deliver high-quality, reliable systems. + Ensure alignment with cloud security and compliance standards in the development of cloud services and solutions. + Actively contribute to performance improvements and infrastructure optimization. **Skills & Qualifications:** + **Experience** with **AWS** cloud services and cloud architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway,RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and more. + Strong **backend development experience** with **Python** , including building REST APIs, handling asynchronous tasks, and integrating with cloud services. + Proficiency in building and maintaining **web applications** and backend services in Python. + Solid understanding of **Python web frameworks** like **Flask** , **Django** , or **FastAPI** for developing robust, scalable applications. + Experience with **database integration** (SQL and NoSQL databases), including interacting with **RDS** , **DynamoDB** , or other cloud databases. + Hands-on experience with **DevOps tools** such as **Docker** , **Kubernetes** , **Terraform** , and **CI/CD pipelines** (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins). + Strong understanding of **RESTful API design** and best practices, including versioning, security, and scalability. + Deep knowledge of **cloud security** , IAM roles, and **compliance** best practices for AWS applications. + Experience with **monitoring tools** like **CloudWatch** , **Prometheus** , **Grafana** , for observability and real-time troubleshooting. + Ability to manage cloud infrastructure, perform root cause analysis, and deliver scalable solutions to business challenges. + **Basic understanding of C++** is a plus, as it may be beneficial for integration or troubleshooting legacy systems or supporting mixed-technology environments. **Qualifications** **Experience Range : 7 - 10 years** + **Experience** with **airline industry systems** or understanding of airline-specific technologies. + **AWS** **certifications** are a plus, especially AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Developer. + Familiarity with **serverless architectures** (AWS Lambda, API Gateway) and **microservices** is a bonus. + Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement tailored solutions.
