Job Summary

The Multi-Modality Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative and applies his/her judgment to produce necessary documentation for further interpretation for the ordered exam. They routinely work in 2 or more modalities for which they qualify by licensure and Sanitas Medical Center requirements. This position must rotate throughout 2 or more modalities, where applicable.

Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Will apply his/her judgment to produce necessary documentation for further interpretation for the ordered exam by the physician. Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness of the exam room, workstation and equipment. Will be flexible and understanding with patients.   Will consult with the physician when encountering the need of immediate medical attention for the patient. Will initiate the sending of stat or urgent exams for further interpretations. Will ensure that proper levels of stock inventory of related supplies are maintained. Will ensure that regularly scheduled maintenance and cleaning are performed. Will keep abreast of new procedures, techniques and applications. Responsible for continuing education and professional development. Assures all exams are sent for further interpretation by the ordering physician before leaving the center. Consult with the Center Administrator in matters of scheduling, work methods and other related issues. Advises administration personnel of any problems with equipment. Always follow HIPAA regulations. Dosimeter badge must always be worn by tech and visible. Assist in the ACR accreditation process, as necessary. Assist with the processing of CT and MRI authorizations, as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
