Multi-Sensory Impairment Consultant (MSI) Teacher
About the role 

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI) Consultant Teacher.  

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children who are deafblind, focusing on communication, access to learning, interaction, social skills/opportunities, play and individual development. Supporting other professionals and raising awareness of deafblindness is also a key part of the role.  

As a MSI Consultant Teacher you will manage your own caseload as well as support other members of a national team, you will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You will support children and young people who are deafblind, in various settings, including their homes, schools, colleges and Sense centres. Therefore, you will be required to travel across the region and occasionally nationally to meet the needs of the children, young people and families we support.  

This is a Hybrid working role and you will be based at either our office in Wales or Bristol. This role can be fully home based, so we are happy to accept applicants who are based further away.

The successful candidate will have a wide range of knowledge and skills in supporting children with complex disabilities and those with sensory impairment and experience in working alongside a range of other professionals. providing advice, support and training.  

For this role, we are looking for a Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Multi-Sensory Impairment. 

Here at Sense we work over a 52 week period, not only through term time. This means you are able to take your leave more flexibly!

Key skills and experience:A full UK driving license is an essential requirement for this role.The role is for a Qualified Teacher of Children and Young People with Multi-Sensory Impairment, candidates must also have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate development opportunities to a wide range of audiences covering various educational aspects of MSI.BSL Level 1 or above is desirable for this role. Why work for Sense?
