As Applications Engineer, you will be part of our an incredible team in our Idea Labs (Innovation Center).
In this position, you’ll be matter expert in Sugar Reduction for multicategory applications including beverages, sport nutrition, bakery and confectionery, with extensive knowledge in sweeteners, as stevia and other high potency sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame K, etc).

As part of the Idea Labs team, your role will be:
Create Cutting-Edge Solutions: Develop innovative sugar reduction applications across multiple food and beverage categories, aligning with customer needs, market trends, and Ingredion's growth strategy.Inspire Through Expertise: Deliver impactful technical presentations, prototype demonstrations, and hands-on workshops to internal teams and customers, turning complex ideas into actionable solutions.Empower Through Training: Lead technical training sessions on sugar reduction solutions for regional and external audiences, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering robust, results-driven knowledge.Shape Global Strategies: Serve as a key leader in regional and global expert forums, defining strategies that meet customer needs and exploring new ingredients within Ingredion's innovation portfolio.Collaborate with Impact: Partner with key stakeholders across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to design and communicate market-aligned strategies for sugar reduction.Lead with Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring food trends, customer demands, and cutting-edge technologies to provide strategic insights and develop pioneering solutions.Champion Safety & Excellence: Oversee all aspects of safety, quality, and operational excellence within our IdeaLabs, including equipment, maintenance, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.Who are we looking for?
Bachelor’s Degree Food Science, Chemical Engineer and related fields;5+ years’ experience in Sugar reduction for multicategory segments, ideally interacting with regional and global functions.Experience in Research & Development role across Food Applications.Knowledge in formulation, prototype development, process, equipment, ingredients, and additives. Application of ingredients such as: sweeteners (caloric, not caloric, stevia, sucralose, ace K, etc).Knowledge in physical-chemical analysis and sensory evaluation.Awareness of food trends, customer´s products and processes.Good English Speaker – for this role is important to deliver key messages in calls and meetings.Who are we looking for?
