Job Description
The Cloud Services team at Motorola Solutions is revolutionizing how technology services are hosted and delivered by seamlessly integrating public cloud services into our existing framework. We are looking for an experienced and driven DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipeline management. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage robust deployment processes while working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize and streamline our development and operations practices.
Basic RequirementsResponsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline code release and infrastructure provisioning.
Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts to automate various DevOps processes, including deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
Implement automated workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention in routine tasks.
Ensure all cloud resources are properly tagged and maintained in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Regularly audit and clean up CMDB records to maintain accuracy and relevance.
Develop and implement processes to keep the CMDB synchronized with all cloud services, ensuring up-to-date and accurate asset information.
Ensure that all cloud services are consistently aligned with business requirements and IT governance policies.
Regularly review cloud infrastructure to identify opportunities for optimization, cost savings, and improved performance.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
Implement security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines.
Continuously improve the automation and reliability of the development and deployment process.
Education / Experience:
BS Degree in Computer Science and/or related field
3+ years of experience in python or any object oriented programming language
3+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role designing, implementing and supporting cloud solutions in AWS, GCP and Azure
2+ years of experience in the Kubernetes and containerization
Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline development and management.
Hands-on experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with the Network automation & Network Security Micro segmentation (VPC, Subnet, PA Firewall, etc)
Technical Skills:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong skills in Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
Automation: Strong skills in Python, Bash, Powershell scripting languages for automation.
Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
Containerization: Expertise with AWS EKS, Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Version Control: Proficiency in Git and branching strategies using tools like GitHub and Bitbucket
Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
Networking: Understanding of network protocols, DNS, VPNs, firewalls and network micro segmentation
Security: Knowledge of best practices in securing CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Operating System: Windows Server, and Linux Enterprise, and Ubuntu
Soft Skills:
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Project Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and deliver on deadlines.
Highly Organized and thorough, with an ability to facilitate communication and scheduling among different levels of staff.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
