Overview The Multifamily Operations Financial and Reporting Analyst is responsible for the accurate preparation, analysis, and review of financial and operational reports related to multifamily property portfolios. This role plays a critical part in supporting asset performance through data-driven insights and reporting, as well as ensuring that financial forecasts, budgets, accruals, and reclasses are properly maintained and analyzed. Additionally, the analyst will oversee key processes such as revenue management and pricing calls while also providing training to relevant team members on financial and operational reporting. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis: Complete, review, and analyze weekly and monthly operational reports to provide insights into property performance. Prepare and maintain renovation logs, ensuring timely updates and budget compliance. Manage and review accruals, reclasses, and other journal entries to ensure accurate financial representation as well as accuracy of variance notes. Support the forecasting and budgeting process, analyzing variance reports and adjusting forecasts as necessary. Training & Support: Train property-level staff on financial reporting systems and processes to ensure consistent and accurate data entry. Provide ongoing support and guidance in the use of operational and financial reporting tools. Revenue Management & Pricing Oversight: Oversee pricing and revenue management calls, ensuring data-driven decisions are made to optimize revenue and occupancy. Analyze market trends, competitive sets, and pricing strategies to support revenue maximization. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with property management teams, regional managers, accouting, and asset managers to address financial performance issues. Communicate key financial data and insights to clients in clear, actionable formats. Ad Hoc Projects & Analysis: Assist in the development of ad hoc financial models, reports, and special projects as assigned by leadership. Proactively identify opportunities for operational improvement through analysis and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within multifamily or real estate operations. Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and general accounting principles. Proficiency in financial and property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, MRI). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create complex financial models and perform data analysis. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle large data sets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and interact with various levels of staff. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Skills: Experience with revenue management software or systems. Knowledge of multifamily property operations and financial best practices. Familiarity with renovation and capital expenditure tracking. Work Environment: Hybrid work environment with some on-site visits to properties as necessary.
