Position Summary

You’ll be the digital driving force behind the College brand, shaping and sharing stories that resonate with all audiences with a primary focus on student recruitment.

Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications-related field, such as marketing, communications or journalism.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
+ Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent (i.e. Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva)
+ A minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field in a professional work capacity.
+ Demonstrated experience translating technical subjects such as science, technology, or engineering into content for a general audience.
+ Written and produced multimedia content.
+ Demonstrated experience in using inclusive language and design principles to create accessible, engaging diverse content.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Experience working in higher education.
+ Excellent skills in writing across multiple platforms and audiences, videography, design and photography, and other content creation.
+ Ability and experience setting priorities, managing time, and collaborating with a team.
+ Experience gathering, analyzing and reporting analytics for social media and web.
+ Experience working within an established brand platform.
+ Experience understanding and working within ( ADA ) Americans with Disabilities Act and accessibility requirements for all content.
+ Experience managing student employees.

+ Develop social posts and other content that incorporates inclusive design and accessibility.
+ Lead the creation and distribution of written and visual media assets for social media (videos, photos, graphic design, etc.) primarily for student recruitment.
+ Collaborate with students, faculty members, and staff on social media stories, videos and other posts.
+ Collect and analyze social media metrics and make data-driven decision to assist College and department communicators with content strategy.
+ Provide social media coverage at annual and special College events, occasionally on weekends and/or off campus.
+ Identify and provide enriching digital experiences for audiences to interact and engage with the College.
+ Evaluate creative ideas and thinking with a critical eye and understanding of the brand, vision, and strategic priorities.
+ Foster an environment of creative partnership and collaboration.

+ Manage the College’s social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
+ As the primary voice for the College on social, represent the College authentically and consistently while engaging with followers in a way that builds trust, affinity, and community, particularly with students.
+ Stay on top of social media trends and implement strategies that keep the College ahead of the curve, ensuring CSU remains a leader among peer institutions.
+ Continuously audit the College’s social media channels; identify areas of growth and opportunity to improve and expand.

+ Assist College communications team with directing student interns.
+ Collaborate with College and department communicators on College-wide initiatives.

+ Be a key player on the University’s Social Media Committee, contributing expertise and creativity to CSU’s overall digital strategy.
+ Provide service outside the scope of normal job duties, such as committee work, commission and/or council membership, serving as an advisor, coach, collaborator, mentor, or on a task force, community and/or civic engagement, search committee activities, participation in professional organizations to advance the university and/or college’s scholarly and academic reputations, and volunteer (e.g., assist with commencement, conferences, fairs, move-in days, college and university events outside of immediate job responsibilities, etc.).
