Faculty Rank or Job Title Multimedia Design Coordinator 2 Job Category: IT Department Provost EEO number: 25P070 Position FTE 100% Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate 60,000 Salary Band: UC S05 Job Summary/Basic Function: This position is responsible for the support and training of Wright State faculty and staff as it pertains to audio/video technology and digital accessibility. This includes leading projects focused on new written and video content relevant to instructional design, accessibility, compliance, video production, and various instructional technologies. Responsible for researching, creating, acquiring and delivering high-quality and accessible content. Direct support will also be provided through ServiceNow for topics regarding audio/video creation, technologies, and maintenance as well as digital accessibility concerns. This position will participate in curricular review for new and existing online and distance courses.This position is also responsible for the ongoing maintenance of legacy Wright State Online/Distance Education content. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in video/audio design, multimedia design, technology with 3-5 years of experience producing audio, video, and other multimedia assets, and experience leading projects. Comprehensive experience in post-production, including video editing to craft polished and engaging motion graphics Knowledge of emerging technologies in the field and familiarity with online educational tools. Knowledge and experience working in a Learning Management system. Basic understanding of federal and state compliance regulations under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and intellectual property laws. Experience with digital accessibility best practices and Americas with Disabilities (ADA) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) requirements Ability to create high-quality technical writing, including materials such as guides and tutorials Demonstrated experience in digital accessibility, including video captioning and audio description using tools such as Rev, Cielo24, 3PlayMedia, and Verbit Demonstrated proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite line of software applications, and non-linear editing packages (Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere) Exceptional technical writing skills, including step-by-step guides and other support material Ability to work on video design elements for a learning management system such as BrightSpace/Desire 2 Learn and using Panopto media management system Ability to work independently, as a productive team member and show self-initiative Demonstrated skills in good customer service, customer relations, and multitasking Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written Excellent problem-solving skills necessary Experience in providing training, documentation and resources to staff and user community Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Copyright, Fair Use, and TEACH Act laws and industry standards Experience with project management best practices and methodologies Familiarity with the major concepts of specific instructional technologies such as media management tools and have a clear understanding of copyright law and its use in higher education Experience with service management tools for tracking incidents, requests, problems, and changes Essential Functions and percent of time: 35% Course Content Collaboration Design and implement instructional presentations, videos, animations, and graphics to support and augment student learning Assist faculty and staff in creating compelling and informative data visualizations that effectively communicate information and ideas to a target audience Elevate video quality through the application of visual effects, transitions, meticulous color correction and other enhancements for visual refinement Craft and edit written and video content from the earliest phases of a project to post-production and final delivery Primary duties include: Development and maintenance of high-quality written and audio/video assets Research and acquire materials pertaining to the course specific subject matter Execute the planning, production and post-production of course specific materials Animate and/or manipulate photos and/or graphics. Stay current with trends and upcoming development in the fields of digital accessibility and online content delivery Evaluate new/emerging technologies in digital accessibility practices and audio/video production for inclusion in future courseware
40% Video Support for Staff/Faculty Provide support with video delivery/editing methods (Panopto), recording audio/video, and closed captioning as it relates to the creation of asynchronous course materials Facilitate and educate staff/faculty on the use of on-campus recording studios Collaborate with faculty and university partners including participating in creative concept development and brainstorming for visual content Create technical documentation, training guides, and workshop content to help faculty and staff create compelling media assets Creates customized training courses and instructional sessions for faculty and staff on best practices, and available technology to improve online and distance learning outcomes
15% Curricular and Compliance Review Play an integral part in the curricular review process; will work with the lead reviewer to coordinate and implement the review process; assist in drafting guiding questions; coordinate curriculum mapping activities and ensure there is opportunity to engage and provide feedback Ensure all digital, and audio/video (e.g., closed captioning) content complies with accessibility standards (e.g., Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to accommodate individuals with disabilities Stay updated on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as it applies to videography and other multimedia assets, best practices in digital design, web accessibility, and user experience Ensure compliance with federal patent, trademark, copyright, and fair use regulations Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): 10% Maintenance of Legacy MaterialsManage all incoming requests for legacy Online/Distance Education content with ITS and Office of Disability Services (ODS), including closed captioning, changes to material, and video hosting concerns Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions Wright State University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
