The Multimedia Specialist provides graphic and multimedia support to our DOD customers. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities Creates high quality communication materials; to include posters, signs, logos, newsletters, brochures, press design, booklets, multimedia presentations, computer-based training, web design, video compression, photography, and video editing.Provide on-site support, including recommendations, for graphic design, print layout design, multi-media activities, and publishing support.Attending project concept meetings as projects demand and may require interfacing with senior Government officials or other agency customers.Use desktop publishing, digital graphic design, and print layout design in accordance with commercial design industry standards.Process all graphic design requests, to include filing, tracking, expediting priority projects when necessary to meet project deadlines, and closing out all work orders.Communicate with VI production team members and customers to ensure project materials are as described in the graphic design request.All other duties as assigned by management and DOD customer. Required Experience/Qualifications Must have an understanding of digital photography, video production and video editing; preferably Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro.Strong knowledge of web design, file formats, file compression and video compression, and streaming media.Full understanding of color and design, high quality color printing, and professional computer skills.Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.Highly self-motivated and directed, with a keen attention to detail.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.Strong interpersonal skills.Good time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Thorough knowledge of rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Preferred Experience/Qualifications Proven expertise in targeting audiences.Experience of designing art and copy layouts.Hands on expertise in planning, analyzing, and creating original visual solutions to communications projects.In-depth understanding of the most effective way to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.Experience designing graphical layouts for magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications such as Internet Web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects.Proven expertise in using perspective, isometric, orthographic, and schematic techniques.In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PageMaker, Quark Xpress, Adobe Go-Live or MacroMedia Dream Weaver, and Adobe Live Motion or Macromedia Flash. Salary Maximum: $115,000
