Multimodality Supervisor

Location: Baylor Medical Center - Grapevine

Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00AM - 7:30PM

\n

$10,000 Sign On Bonus (external applicants only)

\n

This role will need to have experience and credentials in CT and XRay. The Supervisor will be the ‘go to’ or ‘point person’ on the weekends for any calls or needs from the other areas of the hospital. This position will ensure adequate staffing in CT and XRay from Friday night until Monday morning.

\n

Must be CT registered. One year CT experience in a level 2, or higher, trauma center preferred.

\n

Previous leadership experience preferred.

\n

JOB SUMMARY

\n

The Supervisor Multimodality is accountable for supervising, planning, organizing and improving work processes in the various sections of Radiology Services. This position performs department orientation, teaches, coaches, supervises staff and performs imaging exams in various disciplines such as CT, MR or Rad. The Supervisor also acts as a department liaison in the absence of a manager.

\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nOversees the delivery and quality of imaging services with respect to turnaround times, quality of exams performed and patient preparation in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.\nPerforms procedures, as needed, due to workload or complexity. Ensures adequate staffing levels, supplies and resources are available to perform exams and clinical services to meet clinical demands.\nSchedules, monitors, evaluates and modifies staffing patterns in order to properly provide services in assigned areas. Interviews, counsels, and completes performance evaluations.\nTrains new staff and Ensures all registrations and certifications are current, on file and up to date.\nPartners with the management team and staff to conduct multidisciplinary staff meetings to ensure consistent and timely communication throughout the department.\nFacilitates goal setting for staff working in the imaging sections.\nMonitors goals, achievements and Ensures the outcome of the goals is reflected in the annual performance evaluations.\nEncourages employees to participate in Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Patient Safety surveys and other activities providing service feedback results to staff. Initiates a plan of action related to areas of improvement.\nPartners with Management to develop a budget for the department - including providing feedback on new and replacement equipment and services needed for continued growth - monitors operational budgets and implements corrective action plans for negative productivity and operating expense variances.\nPromotes a culture of service excellence in the imaging sections by partnering with management to communicate service excellence and patient centeredness expectations, and customer satisfaction survey results.\nHolds self and staff accountable for service excellence in their areas of responsibility, and facilitates reward and recognition in the imaging sections of Radiology.\nActs as a Radiology liaison to other departments. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians and other medical departments in order to gather and exchange information, develop and implement solutions to problems.\nAssist in developing, reviewing, revising, submitting and implementing policies, procedures and goals that help Department and System goals.\nAssists in ensuring the imaging sections are compliant with The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Texas Department of Health (TDH) standards, and other accrediting bodies.\nIdentifies patient service requirements by utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure they perform the correct exam on the correct patient, establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to know about the service requirements.\nCoordinates and runs groups focusing on patient safety, customer service, performance improvement, environment of Care, Employee Engagement, Physician Engagement, Quality Improvement, Inter-Departmental Relations, etc.\nParticipates in shared governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees. This can also include LEAN initiatives, 5S projects, inter-departmental committees, or any professional organization participation, QC assurance with radiologist, etc.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\nAble to perform high quality advanced imaging procedures according to exam protocol and in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures in a timely manner, and and explain the procedure to put patients at ease.\nAble to perform tasks exclusively without need for routine oversight.\nAble to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.\nAble to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores and developing action plans when required.\nDemonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education and skills appropriate care for the following age groups (specific to department): newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric.\nAble to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.\nAble to make tactical conclusions around the allocation and direction of the work of supervised employees using established guidelines, policies and/or procedures. Able to make effective hiring and termination recommendations.\nAble to train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff. General computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.\nAble to take call, if required.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

\n\nEDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program\nEXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience\nCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in TWO imaging modalities and work 25% of the time in the second modality. Approved modalities are: ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, ARRT-CV, ARRT-M, ARRT-MR, ARRT-N, ARRT-S, ARRT-VI, ARRT-BS, ARRT-BD, ARRT-CI, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, RDMS-FE, RDMS-OB, RDMS-PS, RVT, CNMT or ARMRIT.\n
