Job Summary:
Multisystemic Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic model designed to provide community-based treatment for the families of juveniles who are involved, or at risk of being involved, in the juvenile justice system; thereby reducing their risk of being placed outside of the home. MST focuses on treating the youth within their natural ecology by addressing the multisystemic factors that impact their behaviors within their family, peer group, school setting, and community. The MST Clinical Supervisor is a highly energetic, supportive, and engaging team player with strong engagement and QI skills to help staff adhere to the model, thus addressing the multiple factors known to be related to misconduct across the key settings, or systems, within which youth are embedded (e.g. family, peers, school, and neighborhood).

Direct supervision of 1 MST team consisting of multiple MST Therapists
Provide clinical direction to therapists during weekly individual and group supervision and during weekly consultation
Review therapist’s weekly plans with strong convergence to the model.
Provide direct MST services to a caseload of 1-2 clients as needed.
Provide on-the-job training to new Therapists, and in service training to team.
Maintenance of MST team: maintenance of MSTI website, checking e mail/phone messages daily, providing coverage to families as needed, chart audits, reviewing red flag cases, maintaining team coverage at 75% staffing, ensure confidentiality adherence, interfacing with larger agency, communication with leadership regarding team performance and outcomes.
Maintain timely, clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST principals and the MST analytical process.
Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout MST treatment.
Provide direction regarding clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
Supervises and leads a team of Clinical Providers to accomplish department, program and individual goals.
Functions in accordance with the system’s Operational Guidelines and within relevant professional code of ethics.
Ensures that all client documentation is accurate, in-line with best practices and submitted within the department’s expected timeframe.
Maintains some knowledge of the system’s programs and constantly works to improve referral processes.
Maintains general knowledge of community resources and how to access them for needs beyond the scope of services the system’s provides.
According to the system’s guidelines, participates in departmental/agency meetings. Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of the system.
Within limits of experience, educational background, and the system’s time commitments, presents in public forums educational material to promote community understanding of behavioral health and to enhance community response to behavioral health problems.
Is responsive and cooperative with management needs/requests, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc.
Completes all agency required trainings and requirements. Regularly participates in evaluation of self and any assigned staff according to the system’s Policies and Procedures.
Coordinates annual performance review of direct reports.
Helps facilitate bi-monthly team meetings and monthly individual meetings with direct reports.
Distributes productivity data to direct reports, monitors achievement of department expectation by direct reports, and provides consultation and training in setting performance goals for improvement in written supervision records when needed. Escalates formal disciplinary procedure needs to regional director.
When overseeing a specialty integration service line/programming, regularly analyzes and reports progress on identified metrics to supervisor.
Assists internal or external Quality Assurance and Compliance departments when client concerns are being investigated involving a direct report.
Coordinates performance review of direct reports.
Facilitates team meetings and peer consultations as needed.
Facilitates clinical supervision as required by NPTC.
Deliver brief, targeted assessment and interventions for 8-12 patients per day in the form of same-day consultations and 15-30 minutes follow-up appointments.
Meet regularly with the medical team in an informal “curbside” manner as part of the daily routine of the clinic. Provide clear and concise feedback to other providers, describe action plan and establish plan for follow-up.
Support primary care physicians/teams in identifying and behaviorally intervening with patients who could benefit from behavioral health needs within the primary care practice.
Focus on managing a population of patients versus a small caseload of ongoing therapy patients.
Develop specific and goal-directed interventions with the use of monitoring forms and behavioral health “prescriptions.”
Provide educational materials and use teach back strategies tailored to patient’s specific issue.
Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate the clinic’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development through seminars, conferences, and community involvement.
Maintain records for each patient in accordance with partner’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to chart completion within the required time frame.
Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Provide didactic and in vivo clinical training to stakeholders including clinic staff, administration, the system’s staff, and trainees for the promotion of program development and fidelity to PCBH model of care.
Pilot new integrated care projects by training nursing staff, providers, scheduling and IT departments at new integrated care sites (as needed).
Performs other work assignments or special functions as assigned by department leadership teams, as may be outlined and attached hereto.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of residents, employees of the organization, family members and other contacts in the community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone or telehealth and personal contacts. Shall be able to follow direction and accept supervision.
Experience and/or Education Qualifications:
Must possess at least Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field and at least 2 years of relative experience. Requires state license (associated with the system’s location(s) in which they practice) as a Licensed Psychologist (LP), Provisionally Licensed Psychologist (PLP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (PLMFT), or Provisionally Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (PLMFT). Leadership and/or supervision experience preferred.

Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
