1st shift: 7:15am-6:45pm

3rd shift: 6:45pm-7:15am, 

12-hour shifts

36 hours one week & 48 hours the next week 2 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, 2 days OFF

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Pultrusion Utility Operator works as part of a team performing various tasks in the production and MAT areas of pultrusion. These tasks may vary based on the daily needs in the pultrusion and MAT areas. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager as needed. This role has similar duties as an injection molding operator.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

· Noise levels requires hearing protection in designated areas

· Safety glasses required along with needed personal protective equipment

· Seasonal high temperatures and humidity

· Moderate to fast-paced work

· Requires frequent handling of glass and other product materials

· Will have frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts

· Will require the handling of fiberglass materials, resin composite and clean-up solvents such as:

Resin base Unsaturated polyester resins

Styrene

Alcohol

Norox 802-75P

Techlube

Biogenic

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (FUNCTIONS):

· Responsible for the Haz Mat area to assure compliance with federal and state

regulations as it relates to proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.

· Mix resin and deliver it to the machines

· Cut mats and delivers to machines

· Performs TPM on resin room

· Performs TPM on Mat cutter

· Reports the yield and scrap of cut material to department manager

· Delivers doffs to creel

· Maintains the creel and ties in doffs as needed

· Delivers all operating supplies to the machines such as gloves, towels, acetone, etc. in order for operator to remain in work area

· Change out resin bucket

· Must have the ability to operate powered equipment

· Ability to work with and around moving equipment

· Perform TPM on saws, dust collectors, etc.

· Learns and performs repetitive job tasks

· Regular/dependable attendance required

· Flexibility of work hours including overtime

· Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements/procedures

· Good housekeeping

· Follows all safety policies and procedures

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Aid and assist pultrusion operator in their daily job functions as needed

· Relief operator

· Understanding of the pultrusion process

· Assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution

· Other duties as assigned by department manager

· General knowledge of PLC control

 

SKILLS:

· Basic Computer skills

· Ability to assemble and dis-mantle machinery and tools

· Must be able to read and follow line schedules

· Organizational skills

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Able to work with minimal supervision

· Working knowledge of basic math

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

· Knowledge and use of hand tools

· Ability to read dial calipers, micrometers, surface meters, scales and other measuring equipment

· General knowledge of PLC controls (Programmable Logic Controllers). Does not include programming.

· Use of measurement devices and follows SOP procedures

Requirements and Qualifications:

· Must be 18 years of age or older

· Manufacturing-related experience is preferred

Education:

· High school diploma or GED preferred
