What You'll Do

We are merging NAMR Career & Executive Services (CES) and Alumni Relations to create a seamless, high-impact function that supports employees as they establish careers beyond BCG and maintain strong connections with them as alumni and potential clients.  We are excited to launch this reimagined organization in early 2025.

The Senior Director for Career and Alumni Services will play a pivotal role in this transformation, assisting with the design and scoping activities, and then will be responsible for the execution of the new function. Success in this role will require strong communication and collaboration skills to guide the function through significant change management efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset to building a future-focused organization for NAMR and be a strong partner in building these capabilities around the world.  They will ensure that high service levels of executive career advisory, employee career coaching, and alumni engagement are maintained across the board while positioning the function – and BCG -- for long-term success.
This position is part of the broader CT People Team and will oversee a team of 25 employees across the function, including 4-6 direct reports. The Senior Director will be instrumental in fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence as we embark on this exciting transformation.

Career & Executive Services Overview
The CES team serves as an internal career coaching and strategic placement service for BCG employees, alumni, and key clients. Our team drives several key initiatives:

Career Coaching & Job Search Support: Our coaches work closely with current and departing BCGers, offering career guidance and strategic advice for using the BCG network as part of an effective job search. We provide a sounding board for career path discussions and offer practical, skill-based (ie resume review, mock interviews, offer negotiations) support throughout the job search process.Talent Marketplace: Leveraging strong relationships with key employers and alumni, CES has a unique view of job opportunities across industries and geographies to share with candidates. We manage a database of over 800 active roles at any time, proactively building talent pipelines for priority clients and alumni.MDP Support: Our executive career advisors support MDPs business development efforts by offering tailored talent solutions to senior clients. This includes providing individual career support or connecting clients with talent from the BCG network to fill critical leadership roles.Alumni Career Support: CES offers lifelong career support to BCG alumni, including career programming, webinars, and ongoing access to resources that help them navigate career transitions.Business Insights: Positioned at the intersection of talent and business, CES delivers valuable insights to the BCG People Team and NAMR Leadership. We provide data on employee retention, the external talent market, compensation benchmarks, and other key trends that inform strategic decision-making.Alumni Relations Overview
The Alumni Relations function plays a pivotal role in nurturing alumni relationships with BCG from Day One. This function thinks first of the alumni experience by connecting alumni with BCG in meaningful ways, driving brand advocacy, and unlocking commercial value through strategic and meaningful engagement initiatives.Alumni Engagement: Through affiliation and business development efforts, the Alumni Relations team fosters lifelong connections within the BCG network and drives commercial outcomes.  We activate alumni networks as part of BCG’s go-to-market approach, leveraging alumni relationships to create commercial opportunities.Program Execution: The team leads the execution of alumni programs across local, system, and regional levels to ensure a consistent and impactful experience.  We oversee the senior alumni program in key markets, using these areas to pilot new initiatives and engage senior stakeholders.  We partner with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to promote the alumni value proposition and integrate it through the employee life cycle.Innovation and Best Practices: The team focuses on developing innovative approaches to increase alumni engagement and works to implement technology solutions that enable scalable, personalized alumni interactions.  We use a data driven approach to design and measure KPIs of program and drive continuous program improvement.

What You'll Bring

A minimum of 10+ years of work experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility, preferably within a professional services firmUndergraduate degree required; MBA or other professional degree preferredBCG experience strongly preferred

The NAMR Career Services and Alumni team is a dynamic, tight-knit team comprised of Career Coaches, Executive Career Advisors, CES Operations and Alumni experts. The team consists of four pillars – a central team responsible for management/operations, Career Coaches who service each of BCG's offices across the North American region, Career Executive Advisors who work primarily with Senior Alumni, Client friends, and BCG Industry Practice Areas and our Alumni team which works to strengthen and protect BCG's brand, advance our business agenda, and partner with leadership to engage with our key audiences. The team is spread across North America and works closely with other people functions, office leadership, and external partners.
