Job Description
The selected intern will work for NANA's Communications department, contributing to high-quality projects related to communication, shareholder communications and media relations. The internship is based in Anchorage, AK.
The NANA Shareholder College Internship is a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
Internships will run from June 2 nd – August 3 rd .
Responsibilities
Assist with creating content for social media.
Conduct research and write for NANA publications.
Update the NANA website as assigned.
Work under supervision to plan events.
Fact-checking.
Work under direction help maintain the digital inventory and contribute to taxonomy.
Learn and deploy skills related to introductory graphic design tools (Adobe Express, Premiere Rush, other Creative Cloud applications).
Assist with intern interviews on platforms like Adobe Audition.
Qualifications
Must be a NANA shareholder. NANA shareholders own stock in NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
Proficient written communication skills: write, edit, proofread materials.
Proficient oral communications skills: speak one-on-one or present to groups.
Must be able to work in a fast-moving environment and juggle multiple, competing tasks, able to lift 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate is studying Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Programming, Web Development or Business.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.
Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
